Our Story
Built by someone
who believes in it.
Binaural Beats started as a personal tool and Sound Orbit became the mission.
The job.
I spent ten years in law enforcement before I stepped away. Patrol, Cyber Crimes, Intelligence. The work changes you in ways nobody warns you about. It's not the academy, the FTOs, or the older guys at the station who tell you. It's the slow accumulation. The sleep that never quite catches up. The things you just can't unsee. The way your nervous system stays up even when you're trying to come down.
When I left, I thought the weight would lift. It didn't. Anxiety. Never relaxing in public. A stress response that didn't know the badge was off. Once you're out, it doesn't go away — it sticks. Sometimes worse than it did before leaving.
Finding the tool.
A couple years out, I came across binaural beats. I wasn't looking for a wellness fix. I was looking for something that would help me sleep — something that could turn off the constant faucet in my head. The first time it worked, I assumed it was placebo. The fifth time, I stopped trying to explain it and just started using it.
What surprised me was how functional it felt. Not a guided meditation telling me to breathe. Just laying back and trusting enough to let it all go for 30 to 60 minutes a day. A tool. One that helped with everyday life stresses — kids, sports, new job nerves, the list goes on — and eventually with how I learned to function post public service.
Why this app exists.
The deeper I got into the science of binaural beats, the more I realized this is what I needed to do. The first responder and military communities needed this tool. The tool I wish I'd had when I was on the job.
But once I started building, it became clear: this isn't only for them. It's for anyone whose mind doesn't quiet down on its own. The professional carrying deadlines home. The parent running on three hours of sleep. The student trying to focus through noise. The shift worker stuck on a schedule their body never agreed to. The person who just needs thirty minutes of quiet inside their own head.
Real binaural frequencies. A custom mixer for the people who want to engineer their own sessions. An AI guide that meets you where you actually are.
Who this is for.
This is for the officer driving home at 3 AM after a scene they can't unsee. The ER nurse closing out a 15-hour shift with two more patients than the unit was staffed for. The dispatcher who just talked someone through the worst call of their life and has eight more in queue. The firefighter, the medic, the soldier coming home, the veteran trying to sleep through the noise that won't quiet down.
And it's for everyone who shows up for them. The spouses. The kids. The friends who pick up the late-night call. The neighbors holding it together while life keeps moving.
Wherever you are — if your mind needs a place to land, this is for you. Deep discount for those who serve. Built honestly for everyone else.

What we believe.
Three principles that shape every decision we make about this app.
01
Tools, not therapy
Sound Orbit is a wellness tool, not a substitute for medical or mental health care. We don't oversell, we don't make medical claims, and we tell you what the research does and doesn't support.
02
Honest about science
Binaural beats research is real but mixed. Solfeggio frequencies are even more debated. We give you the tools and the honest context — you decide what works for you.
03
Built for hard lives
We build for first responders, healthcare workers, military, shift workers, stay-at-home moms and dads, and anyone whose mind doesn't quiet down on its own.
